The REAL Way to Play Pyro: Myth Busted

Okay, ignore all this stuff I’ve told you about being a good pyro. Using your airblast, other tools, avoiding W+M1…it’s wrong. Just follow Hamps’s guide to skillfull pyroing.

1) Remove all the keys on your keyboard.
2) Re-add W.
3) Pull out the right mouse button of your mouse.
4) Play Pyro.

A worse movie for motion blur there is not.

Let’s Get Heavy

Heavy metal that is! As one of the laziest contributors on the site, it is my honour to pass along a shout-out to my friend Andy Hauck, or as he is known in the TF2 world, -=I Drink Your Milkshake=-. So what does he have to do with Team Fortress 2 aside from being a regular player? I think I’ll let this video do the talking, lord knows we’ve done it enough around here already. Crank your speakers up to eleven for maximum awesome, it’s “so metal you could upgrade your sentry with it!”

And here’s an awesome picture as a filler an added bonus!

Rawkin' on.

Rock on!

Edit: No kiddos, this isn’t the IDYM of CP fame. I was unaware of said person as I don’t follow CP. However, I do have a spiffy new download link compliments of the artist for you to enjoy.

A Team Fortress Bedtime Story

There are lots of parody videos, comics, and the like of Team Fortress 2. For whatever reason, it inspires fans to creative works, most likely due to the vibrancy of the characters. And no character is more interesting than that of the mysterious Spy- and now, he even comes with his own built-in “Your mother” joke! This video is especially notable not just for the amusing video, but also the impressive impression by the person voicing the Spy. It sounds just like the newer voice clips.

Warning: Despite the title, reading this to your children is not advised.

Dead Ringer + Kill Taunt = OMGWTFINVISISTAB

We all know that TF2 got bugs, and most of them can be exploited in one way or other. However, I believe this one takes the prize as the coolest exploit of them all, and made me realize that the Dead Ringer is actually still a powerful weapon, and that I might go and try that out on the Ubercharged server. People. I present to you… Spy taunt kill complilation. Spy smirked, and millions of raging souls whined and screamed (I think)

Plain awesome, in a box, dipped with chocolate cream, beautifully decorated, and with strawberry on top. That’s a bunch of epic kills that makes me “OMGAWESOMELOL” The next time I am on Ubercharged, I am going to OMGWTFINVISISTAB people, just to see their reactions.

…and I wonder how many of you know that I was in a rush to make this, being a video article with just some lines. Speaking of lack of lines, this is beginning to look alot like one of these articles with just a video and some lines! Videooooooo~ takes up too much! But all is begiven because it’s epic kills, but some shall complain about the lack of lines~

Because video articles usually lack content.

TF2 Spy: The Phase Series

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. And Pyros. The way the Spy can be played is about to be changed with the impending update. Before we see how TF2 will further evolve, let’s take a moment to cherish how it is now (*cough facestabs cough)

Chances are, you’ve probably heard of OMFGNinja and Jening, some of the more well-known Spies in TF2. Perchance you know about Lt. Cindi Lauper, known as SubtleArt on Youtube (and for some reason, missing), and maybe even a guy called Prototype. All fine Spies in their own respect, and probably some of the better ones to bother to make themselves known.

Here today, I bring you an under-appreciated gem of the Team Fortress Spy (under)world; a guy I know called PippiN. Recently finished a frag set of four videos; TF2 Spy, Phases 1, 2, 3 part I, and 3 part II, and may possibly continue the series. I particularly enjoyed part 2 and 3, and you can start with them; no need for formalities. Anyway, I’d like to share them with a few more viewers. Who knows, you may even learn a thing or two. Do shut off HD if you must, but you will be missing out a little. ;)

Without further ado, PippiN, ladies and gentlemen.

His Youtube channel is here, where you can find a couple more videos. Enjoy, take notes, and have a smoke. I can’t wait to see what new tricks crop up with this update.

Spy Sappin’ Mah Update!

As you all probably already know, the Spy sapped the update. I TOTALLY WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG. Thanks for the cookies Zorgulon! OM NOM NOM NOM. This will be TF2’s first double update ever, and it’s going to be so great! Biggest update ever, indeed.

So, why did I quickly write this? Well, someone made a video tribute to that. This guy had ALOT of time on his hands, but that’s nothing compared to the awesomeness! BEHOLD!

I wonder how much 1725 sniper bullets costs… ah well, doesn’t really matter. For those who don’t know, the release of the update is pushed to thursday.

Valve made me realize that we can still have nice things in the world, because if we had sniper rushes, we wouldn’t have nice things in the world. Now, Spy AND Sniper rushes? Now that’s okay! I predict that the next class to get a update is Soldier. I don’t really see any problem with the Engineer (I am a Engie player, so I should know something like that) and I don’t think Demoman is in a serious need of a update right now. The Soldier update would be a good update, because a team of Soldiers is, in my opinion, the best one-class team, with Heavy coming in closely (Disclaimer: I didn’t say rush, so don’t go saying “LOL NO IT’S SCOOOOT” Scout teams doesn’t really work well against a team with prepared and well-placed sentries. Heck, a single well-placed level three sentry could still destroy a Scout rush, though it mostly depends on how good the Scouts are) And I honestly believe that Engineer and Demoman should share a update, because we don’t want a team of only Engineers.

If Valve wants to make more unlocks (I wouldn’t mind it too much to be honest, as long as they make a option for server owners to disable unlockables, aka Vanilla mode. No matter what, Pyro MUST get a guitar-shaped hellstone axe that’s on fire. It also need to be called “Hell Star” just for sheer awesome) I would prefer them doing something bigger like… triple updates. Three classes gets their weapons in the same update, so we will avoid some problems that had been surrounding the updates.

I wonder what kind of unlockable that Soldier would get. Personally, I’d love for a Jetpack (How it would work out, I dunno, but I am sure Valve could think of something) but that’s just wishful thoughts.

I think I like the Dead Ringer watch. I can see some fun potential in it, and I can see it cause mass paranoia, even if the spies don’t have it. Too bad it will also increase spychecking tenfold.

If you need me, I will be off, preparing for the impending Sniper and Spy rush by training my Pyro skills. Flare Gun or Shotgun, Flare Gun or Shotgun…

…I want a hockey mask for Pyro…

…I also want Cloakarate for the Spy…

Scout promo slot for the Slap Chop

Rumor has it that the Scout has been moonlighting as an infomercial host on the side for some time. Here’s his latest work.

And of course, there’s always the Meet The Scout video – which as we all know was a thinly veiled promotion for the Sham Wow towel.

The Bitter War: Pyros Vs. Spectators

For many a year, the Pyros and Spectators had an uneasy truce. They each had their reasons for hating the other.

The Pyro clan could not stand the way Spectators were invisible, like spies.

Spectators were angered by how versatile a pyro was, which would intrude on other classes’ abilities.

The strife only grew as time went on. Specs began making faces at the pyro they would follow (Despite the inability of anyone to see it), and in return, pyros would spam flame, forcing the spectators to turn down their settings.

Then Came the Update.

The Pyros, armed with new weapons and 50 more health, declared war on the Spectators in the only battlefield that could support this massive war: Insta-spawn.

Note: This is a re-creation of the war. To be used for educational purposes only.

Spectators fled for their lives, unable to combat the new pyro scourge that was wiping out their population faster than anything they have seen before. They quickly found solace in the protection of wary server admins, who cut a deal with the pyro leaders. They would give up the war against Spectators, as long as any pyro could move an annoying Spectator away by using the airblast. The spectators were still unhappy. And after many years in development, it was finally finished.

Project Cocoon

In short: Spectators had developed “Shells” of TF2 classes that were immune to flame, and did not have the Friendly-Fire protection system built in. It was time for revenge, on the same ground they had once been persecuted upon.

This is one of many videos shown by the Spectators at this time to scare off other classes. Still, their main goal was the pyro.

The reign of terror ended once the pyros were able to figure out that the Spectators were simply hiding in shells that could be broken open with the axe or shotgun. Many thousands of Pyros had died during Project Cocoon, and many leading pyro scholars have declared it “Thh wrrtht hvhnt tr hvhr rccur tr thh pr-ro phrplh.”

Today:

They have once again reached a truce on common ground. Sure, there are small pockets of Pyros who believe that spectators are still out to get them, but their actions only amount to a couple of airblasted spectators. And, every couple of months, there’s a story in the news about how some Project Cocoon scientists are trying to remove the pyro infestation. However, all of this amounts to nothing compared to the new threat:

Nemesis Teleporters.

(And for all you guys wondering about the poems: Sorry about it, as soon as the server gets settled I’ll get working)
