intensity the movie

Hooray for video posts! I know you guys love them (*ahem*), and you’ll love this one too. No really.

The Australian competitive team Intensity pulled together an 11-minute frag video, featuring the usual 6v6 shenanigans–but unlike most other videos, the editing is nothing short of incredible. Props to decap and Torn Productions for their awesome work.

The video is a 440MB monster, so I dare not embed it on this page. Check it out on PLDX instead, or please to be clicking on the screencap below.

On a side note, that cooperative double-airshot at 10:05 nearly made me JIMP.

    Really nice editing.

    *SPOILERS*
I loved the part when the scout is just toying with the Solly/Medic uber combo.

I saw this a month or so back.

I usually don’t like frag vids..the music wasn’t helping >.> but still nice shots.

That double airshot was really a nice touch. And in general the montage was very well made, specially the after credits part.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll just be on tr_walkway.

I don’t mind video posts, but did legendary grammar stickler Himmelstoss just neglect to capitalise his title?

  12. Cola responded on 09 Oct 2009 at 4:24 am #

Wow. As others have said, I’m not a huge fan of frag videos, but this is just a showcase of skill that has to be watched.

    Also, the editing is phenomenal.

Pldx started lagging badly for me at some point in the past because my comp isn’t good enough =(

    Fortunately, WeGame has it too!

Zorgulon, I just thought the name of the montage was “intensity,” intentionally lower case. Himmelstoss gets a “Noob.”

Offtopic: In all seriousness, I used to be the biggest Grammar Nazi on the Internet. The only time it’s appropriate to criticize someone for their lack of English skills is if it makes what they’re trying to say atrociously difficult to understand and if whoever makes the typo is really really really really obnoxious and elitist about correct grammar (not Himmelstoss).

    I’mma watch the video now.

Himmelstoss? Did you get the name from the movie All Quite On The Western Front?

Good vid well I assume it would be if it would play at a acceptable fps on pldx, my comp can’t handle it :( but I’m trying to watch it on We game.

  20. General Balls responded on 09 Oct 2009 at 5:09 pm #

In that first snipe montage the sniper seemed to have an incredibly low sensitivity on his long-range shots. I’m trying to decide whether that was actually the case or he’s just very steady.

If it’s the former, I’d hate to try to perform with that low sensitivity with players dodging at close range. D:

  21. sheep responded on 09 Oct 2009 at 5:49 pm #

I use 2 sensitivity at 2000dpi, middle notch windows sensitivity and no acceleration.

    :)

Didn’t lag for me, even if I had stuff downloading while l saw watching it…your connection must suck lol.
Anyway, the best word to describe this video would be WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
This is, simply put, the best frag video EVAR.And the guy that edited it is a fucking genius.

My only complaint comes down to the clip at 7:43.

That’s a powerful moment in the song, the clip is good but it just doesn’t house the power needed for that crescendo.

  26. Comedian responded on 10 Oct 2009 at 9:29 am #

    @general balls

its very low sens, alot of top grade snipers have a very low in-game sensitivity, high DPI settings on the mouse (and a very large mousemat) so they can make very accurate shots and nail as many kills as they can, same goes for most scouts. not sure about demomen/soldiers/medics as i am neither one, or care about it :P

  27. like45ninjas responded on 10 Oct 2009 at 1:19 pm #

    low sensitivity is good
    i use 800dpi and 3 in-game

  28. HelisPoe responded on 10 Oct 2009 at 2:56 pm #

    LOOK OUT SCOOT IS HAXING.

  29. General Balls responded on 10 Oct 2009 at 4:16 pm #

Bleh, I don’t have the mat (or even desk) space to be able to make huge mouse sweeps. Just checking my settings then, I apparently have 1,000DPI with an in-game sensitivity of 9.3 (although my zoom_sensitivity_ratio is set to ‘0.75′). Allows me to keep all my control to relatively small wrist movements, which is awesome because I have a gel wrist-rest on my mouse pad that I can just lie my wrist on and move the mouse for ultimate comfort. ^_^

I’m not really comfortable with changing it that much because I’ve been playing for the last couple of years with those settings, and it’d suck to have to adapt to completely different ones. >_>

Finally a decent frag video that doesn’t have a rubbish metal soundtrack

  31. Sinister Minister responded on 11 Oct 2009 at 1:34 pm #

    @F_t_R

Anything with NIN in it cannot be rubbish.

  32. Xsjado responded on 12 Oct 2009 at 1:40 am #

There were some good sequences in there but for the most part very pedestrian. The editing makes it look good of course but otherwise it looks like any other frag video.

Their sniper is very good, I’ll give them that much. The soldier displayed exactly the skill level I’d expect of tournament play, nothing special. Double air-shot notwithstanding. A lot of the really “cool” stuff looked like it was down to luck as much as skill.
