    bloody awesome :P

and to be honest, it was a pretty smart idea to use the bonk in combination with the taunt, makes the taunt at least viable, instead of useless :D

Wow, I feel pretty bad for the victims in this video. I would love to know what they were thinking after that…Nice work though. I would never be able to pull that off :3

OMG! That’s INSANE! I was watching it, and going “omg.. did he really just did that?” all the time, it’s just friggin’ insane i tell you!

    Epic song choice.

  5. Niphrendil responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 4:23 am #

That was awesome. Nice job putting it together and getting those well timed kills.

Schmoopy — I know what they thought…. “WTF!”

  6. Eldrake responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 5:01 am #

    These are quite insane.

I think the best part is where Scout calls the one Sniper a coward :D

  7. Obscure responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 5:17 am #

Now I’m going to find myself doing this all the time as Scout. I can’t believe that I didn’t consider using Bonk before taunting, but it looks incredibly awesome and effective.

  8. HelisPoe responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 5:53 am #

Haha, imagine how embarrassed the victims must be. Walking right into a normally easy to dodge taunt kill.

  9. Zoe responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 6:00 am #

    This is amazingly awesome :D
    I’m gonna try this out!

  10. Jokerine responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 8:14 am #

Whoah, that’s something I’d never thought of. Very clever! I love taunt kills. All classes should have one, in my opinion.

  11. Secret Agent Clank! responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 9:19 am #

And then he said “It must have been a little embarrassing…”

  12. n00bie51 responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 9:20 am #

    3:58 was nice.

Keep in mind as you’re amused by this video of lucky clips, he probably died dozens of times trying to get taunt kills like this when he could have been helping out the team by using a pistol, stunning somebody with a Sandman, or double-jumping with the bat and actually firing his weapon at players.

And Nucl34r, I would say that the taunt kill is still not viable. It just increases the Scout’s life expetancy until he can finish the animation, but if those opponents had any brains they would have moved aside and blasted the Scout apart the moment Bonk! wore off. Which I have no doubt they did in the failed attempts that DID take place.

    Still, kudos to TrainInMyButt.

There are two other videos if people are interested in seeing them…

  14. Nucl34r responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 10:07 am #

when i said viable, i ment in comparison with the other two taunt kills

the heavy taunt kill has an very long range with a short windup and a long cooldown, the pyro one has a short rage, a medium windup and an medium cooldown
now, thats all fair and square, because you can actiually make a kill, either lucky, or well timed, and even if you miss that shot, there is still a chance you will survive, because of your large amount of health

now, the scout taunt caused the very low health scout to stand stationary for a long time, because it has an extremely long windup, but almost no cooldown.
now, the bonk negates that extremely long windup, because you won’t instantly get killed as soon as (an person that knows what he’s dealing with) sees him.

therefore, it makes the scout killtaunt viable in comparison to the other taunts, in stead of absolutely fucking useless

But the Scout’s taunt makes you fly over the map’s boundaries. Therefore it’s the most awesome tauntkill ever.

    He’s my clan mate :D

  17. soylent robot responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 8:09 pm #

i didnt realise you could still taunt with the bonk.
its so obvious now! i might have to try this

  18. n00bie51 responded on 19 Apr 2009 at 11:05 pm #

Also, something that bothers me about this video is that people clearly use the Bonk! just for the temporary invulnerability it offers.

  19. LaZodiac responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 12:28 am #

I predict more people useing Bonk after this, atlest for awhile.

Also, that Spy that tried to backstabed him would of been epic either way it turned out.

  20. sMisk responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 2:12 am #

haha insane fun :P gj on the vid and the kills :)

  21. Sheepshifter responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 2:12 am #

Gee, thanks for getting that song stuck in my head…

  22. SirMax responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 2:43 am #

Did he splice domination taunts over the video, or has the scout been patched to say class specific taunts whenever he kills them, regardless of domination? Or was he already dominating them and extra kills on top of dominations get him to say the class specific lines?

  23. TiMbl4 responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 2:49 am #

No, those were domination/revenge/misc audio files from tf2content.gcf over the clips. Oh and Thank you for your comments, I was a bit shocked, that my video made such a interest to scout taunt killing. And, yeah, some of the players in this video Are stupid…

  24. SirMax responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 3:01 am #

@Nucl34r: The only problem is that most of them were in high density areas to even be able to get a kill, and with the slowdown, it makes it a little hard to get away without dying.

  25. kThanks responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 4:43 am #

Yeah… you can’t do this anymore. They fixed it.

  26. TiMbl4 responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 5:16 am #

kThanks what are you talking about? I just tested it, and it still works.

  27. requesting: responded on 20 Apr 2009 at 7:54 am #

    … no wait l4d first tonight D:

  30. gelugon2105 responded on 24 Apr 2009 at 2:35 pm #

Those taunt-kill victims deserve to be hit into walls or out of the map. A smart player would recognize the scout’s taunt-kill immediately and avoid it.

However, I have never thought of using the Bonk Drink before though. The game does automatically swap weapons for the player, but since I am using the Force a Nature or the Scattergun most of the time, it switches over to that instead of the Sandman.

  31. General Balls responded on 24 Apr 2009 at 5:14 pm #

    @gelugon

It switches to whatever weapon you were wielding before you pulled out the Bonk!. So if you want to use it with the Sandman, switch to the Sandman, then the Bonk!, and you’re set.

[...] Bonk! is an optional. The Pistol is an okay backup weapon for mid-range opponents, but I personally don’t use it much. Besides, it’s just too much fun hearing the Scout yell insults at his opponents when they miss him. It’s great for running past Sentry farms, or distracting them so your team can clean up the mess. Another thing to notice is that the knockback you take seems to be doubled. You may think “OMG REMOVBE NOKBAC VAVLE,” but don’t be so hasty. Abusing sentry knock back is one of Bonk!’s strengths. You can, say jump from above the sentry to get to a high ledge, or, use several level three sentries to boost yourself out of their range and right next to a charmingly oblivious Soldier. (I’ve done that before) The latter tactic is very effective at crippling a strong defence from inside. When I got to the RED spawn, I destroyed the Teleporters, and harassed all the people spawning until they focused all their attention on me, rather than the cart, which was already at the first checkpoint. You can also taunt while on Bonk!. [...]

  33. James responded on 17 May 2009 at 7:54 am #

That is amazing. I will be trying this immediately.

  34. snipers_get_the_head responded on 19 Aug 2009 at 12:37 pm #

hahaha, awesomeness at its max. I especially love that one near the end with the heavy and scout. At first, they must be thinking, “lol, n00blet, standing still!” then, something along the lines of “zomg leet haxor invinsible fair is not fair!!one1!” and then finally, “omgwtfbbq why I so far!?!?!?!”

  35. Kameko responded on 29 Jan 2010 at 7:41 am #
