Heavy Crayon Art
Pinko directed us to this piece of artistic mastery showing off the heavy’s mad crayon skills. Shows why he should stick to big guns.
It was posted by Evang over at Deviant art.
edit – Yes, the link was originally to another site, but all the members there took offence to being linked to, and came over here posting with an attitude I don’t want to encourage on this site. So I removed all reference to it and nuked all the comments to do with it. Seems they prefer not to have free publicity and the ubercharged sense of humour, fine.

The heavy can supposedly spell “engineer” but not “pyro?”

There’s another comic drawn in a similar style involving a lunchbox gun (the artist also being a Heavy).

Pinko responded on 09 Nov 2008 at 3:33 pm #
From what I can tell, Fighting Amphibians looks like a carbon copy of 4chan with a different theme. It’s kind of like how I imagine english would change if you left 10 people in a room for 20 years. Their words would slowly change until it was something that fit more weller. (C WUT I DID THUR?)
Also, awesome picture.

@Tom Hanks – Like I said.
PS – I love how there have been like 5 “Tom Hanks” posting all from different IP addresses. Is it some FA in joke to post as that? I dunno, maybe I’m just getting old and not with it, or maybe you just aren’t as funny as you think?
Spooner responded on 09 Nov 2008 at 11:16 pm #
All you stupid 4chan kids need to get a hobby or something. Boohoo, someone said something in passing about your site that you didn’t like. Go listen to your emo music and cut yourself (some more).
This whole thing is like when they have free weekends in TF2 and all the n00bs stream onto the servers – except it’s the 4chan kids streaming onto ubercharged.
Neuromante responded on 09 Nov 2008 at 11:39 pm #
All this had become from a humoristic (that’s how I have interpreted it the “unholy and so” part) commentary? How HUGE sense of humor!
One thing it’s a disagreement comentary, other a “forum invasion” with nonsensical internal “haha, how cool we are they don’t know nothing about the joke” jokes.
Grow up.

Oh, woops. Forgot to end my post how I meant to end it…
Also, I found that picture through StumbleUpon, I haven’t heard of Fighting Amphibians until I sent the link to Madlep.
Here’s how I meant to end my last post:

HAHA! It’s even MORE funny the second time!
(And why is everyone talking about 4chan?!?)
Zorgulon responded on 10 Nov 2008 at 4:13 am #
I hate to spoil this delightful string of comments by actually commenting on the subject of the post itself, but that cartoon is pretty funny.
Also-
“ffs u goddamn nurds i cud bet u up in like 2 secunds im rippd in real lif”
I’d prefer all threats to be in Standard English, please, regardless of how rippd its writer is in real lif.
Lee responded on 10 Nov 2008 at 4:46 am #
I’m a bit confused, half of the FA guys are bitching that they’re being compared to 4chan and the other half are acting exactly as I expect 4chan members to act.
I’ll also add that I’d never heard of you guys before either.
Anonymous responded on 10 Nov 2008 at 5:17 am #
uh I would just ignore it all. I don’t think we have to worry about our SUPER SECRET CLUB being “invaded” and it’s not like we can’t take measures against such a thing if it were to happen.
But I think you are hurting Heavy’s feelings by not commenting on his artistic mastery.
Himmelstoss responded on 10 Nov 2008 at 5:47 am #
Reading the comments is funnier than reading the comic. Seriously, madlep, I think you might need to reconfigure akismet to deny these idiots from sucking the life out of this site

Anyway, this article is one of the funniest I’ve seen. I love the bit where he colors the Spy wrong.

I like where this is going.
Tinker responded on 10 Nov 2008 at 8:43 am #
I think the point here was that the original blogpost had “…Fighting Amphibians – a site apparently dedicated to demonstrating everything that is wrong and unholy with the internet… ” in it, which is a little odd to start with if you just got your news from there. Think whatever you like of FA, but with generalizations such as Spooner’s you won’t get anywhere.
Anyway, the original post seems edited so it’s all good.
madlep responded on 10 Nov 2008 at 8:53 am #
@Tinker – It’s just the kind of humour we run with around here. Self-deprecating mostly, but we poke fun at other people as well. We don’t get your in-jokes, you don’t get our humour. Fine. Your forum members have shown immaturaty with dealing with it though, so I’ve just removed the problem.
@Jonii – There is a bug with the template and with the way caching is done on the site. Sometimes it fills in the email address from another poster in some random cases.
Havy responded on 10 Nov 2008 at 8:54 am #
Eh, just ignore the site that it originally came from, they’re afraid of their “sekrit club” being penetrated. Half of them are freakin paranoid.

Hello. I realize this is a rather old article, but- Well, I don’t really understand the point of view of some of the comments.
The site this came from is a site for friends and like-minded people, by friends and like-minded people. I fail to see how wanting to keep a site low-key (We’re probably the only people who find air puns and renamon jokes funny anyway) makes us whiners.
madlep responded on 27 Nov 2008 at 8:16 am #
@Air Man – let it go. Everyone from ‘that site’ came over here acting like dicks. To shut them up I removed all reference to it and nuked all the comments from ‘those people’.
If you want to keep it ‘low key’, just don’t bring it up again.
