TF2 companion cube soccer

The sheer genius behind the idea of taking the companion cube, putting it in a soccer game and then adding stupidly large amounts of bullets and explosions to the mix cannot be ignored.

The mode looks like it could be refined, with some odd-looking goals and some classes looking more useful than others, but I doubt you’ll care when teamwork and a bit of luck create the end result of a companion cube spinning 50 feet into the air.

You can download it here. Oh, and I’d prefer it was called football, but maybe that’s just because I drink tea and say “Toodle-pip” a lot…

you just prefer football because you aren’t some amerifag that calls a game where you use your HANDS and an EGG FOOTBALL

no offence there but its pretty stupid and makes no sense

    That’s just pure awesome.

Also, it’s kind of hard not to be offensive when you use a term like “amerifag”. Just saying.

It is a whole lot of fun, and the creator keeps refining the rules as he gets more and more feedback from playtesters. It’s actually advanced quite a bit since this video was taken, though the goals still look the same.

Biggest problem we’ve seen is people just using the maps as an excuse to deathmatch, but some of the rules that are now in place is helping to negate that (currently, there are certain class restrictions, and damage is lowered away from the cube).

You should give it a try; I doubt you’ll be dissapointed.

Looks remotely nice, I just see no point of having the companion cube, it should be a real ball.

    But the Companion Cube needs a job after being roasted ;_;

That brings me to a totaly random question. SupremeSonic, on the vast 360 Live web, have we ever crossed paths in TF2? I use the same handle as I have on me as I post.

    Just curious.

VenomKing, we played around with a ball (specifically, the Weighted Companion Sphere from the advanced levels), but found it far too difficult to control. The cube is a little more predictable, especially when hit by explosives.

This isn’t new, I’ve played on servers months ago just like this but they actually have an oversized football (soccer ball) instead of the cube.

Holy shit theirs a SPHERE! I really need to stop being stupid and play those advanced levels.

that is so totally awesome. :) that is amazing. The game they are playing is football not soccer so leave at that and im going to eat my scones. :)

That is a rather stupid idea.
Ruining a thing that was once awesome and now is a fad, even more.

Who know servers with this mod ?

I think that valve might as well adapt it and make it a play mode. I mean hell, TF2 is goofy enough so let it be more goofy.
