Spumping - It’s what Heavies were made to do.
Spumping: The art of jumping and spinning up your minigun in mid-air so it’s spooled and ready to fire when you land. Particularly effective when appearing around a corner or dropping from above as it effectively negates the spin-up time of Sasha, and gives the enemy no time to react before pure leaden hell is rained upon them.
But before we continue, a word from our sponsors:
Spumping!
Spread Sasha’s love before they can react! Watch as they squirm when Sasha lovingly forces herself upon them! Laugh deeply as she spews forth pure, ventilating passion upon unwilling opponents! Taunt to make the little babies cry! But most of all, rest easy knowing you have ridden the world of at least one mob of bawling diaper-wearers, doing your part in making the world a better, manlier place!
Spumping! It’s what Heavies were made to do!This message is brought to you by the Demolition branch of RED (helping you kill better).
Arrrrrr-Eeeee-Deeeeeeeeee!
So, uhh, yeah. As a fairly decent Medic, I wish more Heavies would do this.

I’m honestly surprised this isn’t more common than it is. I thought everyone did this.

I thought it was common sense, even though Heavy is my LPC
General Balls responded on 23 Jul 2008 at 4:17 pm #
You’d think they would, but I’ve seen an alarming rise in the the number of Heavy’s I’m healing spinning up before they get to the corner and either getting sniped or only snatching kills if they crit.
I thought the achievements had to actually come out before they all acted like this. :S

Eeeeeeeeeew, heavy.
Eeeeeeeeeew, spumping.
Why does that sound so dirty?

…and if that fails, there’s always critpunchingping
Xeno responded on 24 Jul 2008 at 6:55 am #
I almost always do this, except when I know there is a sentry round the corner. Then I don’t, for obvious reasons.
I am a glorious heavy, btw.

I feel like a bit of a fool. Heavy is my second played class and I actually never even thought of spumping. I recently stopped playing WoW I’m still in the mindset of a caster where moving interrupts spells.
Logged onto my usual haunt today and surprised a few enemies with the spumping. Works brilliantly against Medic/Heavy combos.
