Advanced Ninja Spy Tutorial
Ubercharged regular OMFGNinja is living up to his name with some more spy antics. This is the definitive reference for playing spy. There’s all sorts of goodies in there – how to handle each and every class, some crazy batman style stealth dropins, and lots of backstabbing goodness. Makes me want to play more spy just watching.
This is OMFGNinjas Advanced Spy Ninja Tutorial. It covers several topics for the spy, including Stalking, Leaping Stabs, Quickstabs, Mind Games, Solocaps, and more. After your done checking out the video, check out my website at OMFGNinja.com

the best part is how he can’t spell sentry. or opposite. frequent typos.
and there’s a clip of a soldier and engineer just staring at him while he’s on top of a dispenser. he acts like it’s some sort of hugely skilled thing that they’re ignoring him.
Murdoc responded on 21 Jul 2008 at 2:20 am #
Very nice.
They are some serious skills.
I will definitely be giving some of those tactics a try.
I can see some of those moves being accused as Face Stabs too.

I want to try out the quickstab sometime, except I’m a terrible spy.

You can however still watch it here on Youtube

Yeah, dunno what’s happening on Vimeo. I’ll leave it a couple of hours, and just link to the Youtube one if it doesn’t come back.
OMFGNinja responded on 21 Jul 2008 at 8:23 am #
Hey Guy. I don’t know why Vimeo is being dumb and not showing the video… I’m trying to get it worked out.
Thanks for checking it out
Hain responded on 21 Jul 2008 at 10:31 am #
Be patient, Vimeo works like that, at first it’s ok, then it disappears for a while, sometimes for several days, but then it’s back for good.
madlep responded on 21 Jul 2008 at 12:07 pm #
Well, it’s back anyway. I guess Vimeo managed to unclog their tubes, or bring some more big trucks in or something. Enjoy.
madlep responded on 21 Jul 2008 at 12:36 pm #
That last description of mine wasn’t too far off. Apparently Amazon’s S3 service went down – which is what Vimeo uses to store the videos. A whole bunch of sites have been complaining that bits of their functionality is offline because of it.

Awesome “tutorial”. I even liked that you didn’t put music, can actually hear the original sounds.
supremesonic responded on 22 Jul 2008 at 7:03 am #
I dunno, it could of done with more music.
Like CRAWLIIIIIIIIN IN MY SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN.
Ryebread responded on 22 Jul 2008 at 8:36 am #
Without the music, this really looks like a documentary you might find on the Discovery channel. While a lack of music makes the video a little dry, it certainly demonstrates some devilishly skillful stabs of a man with impeccable timing.
OMFGNinja responded on 22 Jul 2008 at 11:01 am #
Hey Madlep! thanks for posting this up here man. I’ve been pretty overwhelmed with everyone asking me stuff, I enjoy it tho. Thanks for linking up my videos, I really apperciate it.
I don’t know what to make of this whole Amazon/Vimeo outage thing… I think they might actually be conspiring against us
Pinko responded on 22 Jul 2008 at 11:18 am #
I’ve mentioned it on youtube, and I’ll mention it here. I still think that OMFGNinja is only a mediocre spy, and that most of his videos are only against completely stupid players, almost as though filmed during a free weekend.
Or drunk people.
Some okay tips, most of it is stuff that’s really easy to understand and pretty self explanatory.
REALLY well edited, though, which is what I love about watching videos.
General Balls responded on 22 Jul 2008 at 8:57 pm #
I’ve only seen the first one, but most of his tips seem to be things you figure out by playing over time. That said, I’m going to have to start to perfect crouch-jumping over people on stairs and backstabbing them.
Sanns responded on 23 Jul 2008 at 3:16 am #
You can think whatever you want about his skill or the skill of his opponents, but I think this is an extremely well-prepared video with some worthy techniques that many players–myself included–could benefit from watching. It reminds me of something Daedulus said in response to critique about using unskilled opponents in his videos; I forget the exact phrasing, but it went something like: “My goal is to make a good how-to video; these same techniques can be used against skilled players, they are just obviously going to be less effective. Plus if I were to use highly skilled players in my videos, I would have had to record a lot more time to get the same content, and also the demonstrations might not be as clear to the viewers.”

Screw all the haters, I thought this was an excellent video. You have mad spy skills…I have never even thought of leaping over someone on the stairs or jumping down on their heads.
But then again, my spy played time is ~4 hours, compared to 20+ on all others and 60+ on demo
Great vid, keep it comin!
