The Ubercharged TF2 server is kicking ass and taking names with this weeks theme:

Payload Partytime!

Goldrush isn’t the only place you can blow those filthy reds to kingdom come. Of course we’ll be playing there, but We’ll also be visiting Red Mesa,

an in development map Cliffhanger, and saving the best till last:

Yes, it’s Dustbowl Payload, just like you always wanted (though you may not have realised that until just now). We may use Heights instead in future, but for now we’ll see how the original Dustbowl fares.

Playtimes are the usual slots on Saturday, 10 pm in each timezone:

Australian Eastern Time GMT US Eastern Time US Western Time
10pm, Saturday 7th June 12pm, Saturday 7th June 8am, Saturday 7th June 5am, Saturday 7th June
8am, Sunday 8th June 10pm, Saturday 7th June 6pm, Saturday 7th June 3pm, Saturday 7th June
12pm, Sunday 8th June 2am, Sunday 8th June 10pm, Saturday 7th June 7pm, Saturday 7th June
3pm, Sunday 8th June 5am, Sunday 8th June 1am, Sunday 8th June 10pm, Saturday 7th June

Or even better, just join the and you’ll get announcements when we’re online and kicking ass.

The server is up 24/7 and set to download maps, so you can log on wherever and poke around, but you’ll find things a lot faster if you download the maps yourself:

Black Mesa
Cliffhanger
Dustbowl

See you there!

    Partytime?
does that mean that the party hats and funky gibs are on too?

I might not be there as I have a party I think I have to attend to.

Teckor deserves a big pat on the back for that Dustbowl Payload map. it kicks ass.

Holy crap, Tekcor made it? He deserves a medal.

Haven’t played it, but sounds like the best bastardization ever.

    I’d like to

    a) thank all those who logged in to play already
    b) apologise for detonating a promising session by causing the server to think I was hacking it
    c) assure everyone I now know what the hell I’m doing with rcon, and it won’t happen again.

Aw, it’ll be too laggy to play from Australia :(

@Design - you’d be surprised how well it plays. I’ve jumped on a few times, and while you can’t own it up as a sniper, you can do well with more spammy classes like heavy or while medicing or engineering.

  9. General Balls responded on 06 Jun 2008 at 5:54 pm #

Oh you can do well enough as Sniper (thank you lag compensation! :D).

It’s when you’re Soldier/Demo/Pyro/Medic that you have to worry about, because one or more of their weapons don’t have lag compo. So your rocket will only come out of that launcher a second (or under) after you click. It makes pipe jumping a bastard. :(

    Right. I have a plan!

Even though my usual computer is in the shop getting fixed up, I’ve got all my Steam files backed up at the office. So… I’m transferring them all across onto a spare PC that is hanging around at the moment (20 hours left, but whatever).

So I’ll wander in on Sunday morning local time, and will probably be around for the GMT/US Eastern sessions.

    See you there :D

    Right.
I’m on the server now, and I’m drunk. If anyone wants an easy madlep kill, now is the time. Fridays nights FTW

Wait until you see the final explosion on pl_dustbowl :) Kudos to Tekcor for making it.

I have yet to see said explosion, because my team is always way too good.

The Red Mesa map looks like it could warrant further investigation. By me. Right now…..

Oh, and the dustbowl payload map too…only just realised that those traintracks could be there for a reason…

Oh, and Cliffhanger sounds like it could be epic too…

In fact. I’m not even here right now. I’m already playing.
