Messed Up Rainbow Glitch Team Fortress 2
Koopa mailed these pics over. Some weird ass glitching going on there.
I got a new videocard today and am experiencing LOTS of graphic errors - these are the funniest ones. I swear by my website, that I did not change the images with a graphic program, those crazy effects occured ingame. I don’t know where this comes from, but I call it the Demoman-Drunk-Too-Much-Effect

I reckon its “Pyro Inhaled Too Many Propane Fumes Effect”, or “Raver Scout Took Too Much Acid Effect” personally
And no, before you try this at home, it doesn’t mean you can see cloaked spies, stop crit rockets by going into “bullet time”, or ascend to a higher plane of existence, enlightenment, and inner bliss. Although you may require glasses if you play like this too long.

Thanks for posting my weird screenshots
I returned to normal colors again, but I admit that the rainbow-phase was kind of funny. The bad thing is that you can’t differ between enemies and friends - both teams are rainbow-colored..
If anybody else experiences odd graphic errors like vowels aren’t displayed correctly, weapons are fully black sometimes or capture-multiplier not really displayed, please, please contact me!
Cheers

the worst I’ve had is that it will show a “you got more blah than your previous best” thing that makes no sense, has a picture of a scout rather than the class I’m playing, and has % signs in it.
and the floor used to be see-through a lot.

Looks like the crazy errors you get when you try to run TF2 under linux with DirectX 9 turned on. I suspect that something in there was screwing up with your new card. Trippy!
N.B: It reminds my of the drugs-o-vision power up in Carmageddon. Man, I loved that game…

A shame you fixed it. I want to see a video of this!
This is what the game looks like at around 1am for me.. after a few beers.. and other things.

I didn’t fix it, the effect stopped after some deaths.
I would’ve recorded a video, but I have no recorder like Fraps installed.. the Source recorder does not record how it looks like on the screen, it only saves model data, bullet information…

A similar thing happened to me the other day. My connection went down (because i have a rubbish isp) and when it came back up, a few seconds later i reconected to the same server got back into the same game on the same map (hall of death or something like that was the map, i think it was a simmian cage server, not sure tho).
It wasn’t fully psychedelic like Koopa had, just a few little bits here and there.
really should of taken a screen shot, gutted that i didnt now.
i disconected from the server and connected to another one and it has been fine ever since.

I have exactly the same issue, including guns occasionally rendering back or other artifacts (i don’t over-clock, and i have a well-cooled system. I normally alt-tab when this happens; it fixes the issue for me. I’m on windows x64 with 3800 amd 64, and a 7600 gt. Very odd.

the only graphical problem i’ve had is when getting a connection timeout that recovers, when it comes back, some models aren’t displayed and some have the wrong texture. Soldiers become completly invisible (not the safest people to ignore), scouts look like they’re on my team at all times and engineers are just floating weapons.

I have the same problem but only in patches it is really annoying and i can’t fix it.
