How To Play Demoman Tutorial Video
Deep Blue emailed with links to a new tutorial video he has made for playing demoman. Some good tips to watch for aspiring demomen. Only thing I’d change is to add more discussion on the finer points of demoman crotch taunting.

Woo stage6. I love the demoman and i have 110+ hours with him. Only thing that annoys me is that it’s damn hard to hit with the bounce pipe launcher.

@neau - yeah, it sucked when they nerfed the bouncing of grenades back in beta. They only explode on a direct hit now, or when the timer runs out after the first bounce

Walking through people is a bad idea for spy-checking. Most good spys will immediately side-step, turn, stab, cloak, and continue..

@Rick - I gotta disagree with that one. Often it is easier and more effective than firing on them, especially if you are playing demoman, where its hard to land a shot on them if they are moving around. I also find it better when I’m playing medic healing someone else, and I don’t want to break the healing beam to switch to an offensive weapon to check them with.
Yeah, there’s a chance that they might backstab you, but if you’re already suspicious of them, then its not that easy for them to get behind. Plus if you’re around sentries or other players, the spy doesn’t always want to risk breaking cover to take you out.

I agree with that, madlep… I actually have NEVER been backstabbed when checking someone by walking into them…
On a side note, I must add that the video’s lack of discussion in the finer points of crotch-taunting does not mean that I am not proficient with this, nor does it mean that I am not open for discussion on this topic. It’s always good to get up on the concrete block as Blu in Gravel and busting a few Ka-BOOM!’s ^^
