Weekend Clan Stack Extravaganza!

thats me on the bottomIts the weekend again, so that means the stackers are out in force messing with YOUR game time.

Luckily the message is getting out, and our army of anti-stackers are doing their bit.

SO. We’ve got a massive Clan Stacked update with a whole bunch of nice shots this week.

First up, Jerry Fuselier (Fuseman) has a 5 deep shot of <CC><
<CC>< 5 deep stack

Zen has a 4 deep shot of Turmoil *
Turmoil * 4 deep stack

Boian “neau” Alexiev has a 3 deep shot of noPantz.
noPantz. 3 deep stack

deadlock has a 5 deep shot of [WP]
[WP] 5 deep stack

LavaGod Sacrifice has our second ever 6 deep stack done by [UoY]
[UoY] 6 deep stack

Jonah H. has a 3 deep stack of [DAD]
[DAD] 3 deep stack

And last, but not least, driver_800 send in another 6 deep shot, with this interesting note:

Here’s one I picked up last night. I pointed out via allchat that they would likely set the record on the “stacking hall of shame,” and they reacted, so maybe your wall is gaining some currency. Anyhoo, they were steamrolling every round in dustbowl in under two minutes. Twitchy and illiterate juveniles.

Nice. Good to know we’re getting a name for ourselves :D
[C22] 6 deep stack

As always, you can see the full list at the Clan Stacked page.

3/4 hardly qualifies as a stack on a 12-16 person team… You really need 5 or more to function as a mini-team and still then you’d need the other team to really suck or you to have the overall better team to see a major difference.

Yeah, the interesting ones are the bigger stacks for sure. A 3/4 stack can still make a difference though. If you get a spy and medic plus a heavy/soldier/pyro, you can break through a lot of defenses without much resistance.

We stack all the time, but with a community with over 300 members its often that we find outselves on the same servers. A couple of games on the weekend we have all of one team and half of the other. Stack’s on I say, at least we are playing with guys we can trust to perform as a team.

FYI we [OCAU] are not a team, but members of a forum which decided to tag up so we could play together and enjoy the game more.

I still fail to see how stacking does anything other than show pubbies how horrible they are.

What you’re implying is that clan stacking is bad, which in turn would imply that it’s bad because it makes the game harder for the team that isn’t stacked. Well guess what, losing is how you learn.

I don’t think stacking is all that bad, certainly not as bad as exploits or hacks.

I have no problem with a clan wanting to stack, and understand the reasons for it (more fun to play/voicecomm with friends). But you can’t credibly contest the point that it isn’t much fun to play against (like an exploit or a hack), esp. after all the decent pubbers have left to find a balanced game.

Stack if you want, but give me a way to avoid it without having to load up the server first. If you run a clan server that likes stacking, put “stack friendly” or something in your serv description. If you run a pub server that permits one sided stacking, do the same. Or better yet, if you’re a clan on a pub server, don’t stack–go set up a scrim somewhere to actually test your mettle.

As for the point that “losing is how you learn.” Yes, provided that you can actually test some tactics. When you’re on a stacked pub server from which all the decent pubbers have already departed, good luck doing that. Anyway, a clan that hopes to improve instead of being labeled a noob squasher should want to learn too–meaning that it should find a game in which it actually has a chance to lose–and “learn.”

There is ALWAYS room for improvement. I wouldn’t be such a good sniper if it weren’t for watching how everyone else killed me over and over again.

You may not win, you may not have fun, but you will get better.

As to your comment on hacking, I agree completely, though it wouldn’t be anywhere near as big of a problem if people would actually secure their servers.

Ever since VAC was added people have gotten lazy.

Almost EVERY server I’ve played on in the last month has been sv_pure 0 or sv_pure 1 (default), both of which allow for modified player models, which in turn opens the door for wall hacking.

I’ve seen people using it, hell I’ve tested it out myself when getting my own server secure. It does exist, and no VAC does not ban you for it.

People really need to go and either:

    A: Set their servers to sv_pure 2

    -or-

B: Set their servers to sv_pure 1, create a whitelist file, and disallow player models from disk.

lol 3-4 stacking. WTF?? If you spent half the time practicing rather than taking cry baby screen shots then you wouldnt care about stacking. Just because players have a [WP] or [OCAU] doesnt mean they are working together. They are only a forum not a clan. Hope this link helps you.
