Oh, now this is just precious. I spotted this thread over on the Steam Team Fortress 2 forums. They’ve closed the thread now, but all I have to say is : Go back to Counter Strike

As if my favorite class wasn’t underpowered enough at <44.6 damage per noscope / instant zoom hit, they had to further increase the time before you can shoot again while quick switching weapons between shots instead of cocking the rifle. (This was not listed in an update to my knowledge, I hit “view update news” only to find that the last news is from Oct. 9. Apparently Valve is really on top of their game what with, error steam client could not be verified, your vac poo could not be verified, and the classic you don’t own this game until you restart steam to receive an update that doesn’t do anything).
But anyhow… on to the rant.
Coming from a cs:s AWP ????? background, this is a disgrace… This game is less realistic, and much more fast paced than cs:s and yet they had to lame it up.
Let me just say that, the sniper secondary is a useless POS, and I used to and still do, (up until now) noscope, q twice, repeat… because it was a much more effective method for someone who knows the middle of their screen like the back of their hand.
I remember the first day I played the beta, you could q twice and shoot again as soon as you whipped out the sniper rifle. Then one day it increased so there was a mild pause similar to source… But now it is like, whip out the rifle, wait a millenia then you can shoot.
If the sniper class is going to remain this way, the sniper aught to do 62.5 damage per hit to kill 125hp in 2 instead of the standard 3 or 4. Or the machine pistol should kill a 125hp in 1 clip instead of the standard 2 or 3. I consistently have to empty at least 2 clips into a disguised spy before he goes down.
My request however will never happen, and I will likely be forced to play the slow and typical ????ty noob “I’ma Chargin Mah Lazah” sniper.
